And then there was the third day...

Holy Week in Latin America is becoming one of our favorite outreach and ministry opportunity times. On Good Friday we hit the streets for some ministry time among the crowds at one of the many processions depicting the crucifixion and burial of Jesus. It's awesome that the story is so beautifully portrayed, but it always ends without giving you a chance to do the victory shout. Major bummer.

Schools are closed for Holy Week, and hundreds of vacationers flood the streets to view the sawdust carpets or participate in the sober processions. The image of a cross-laden Jesus or His face bearing a crown of thorns, gives a wide open door to talk with people about what Easter means to them. This year, we invited people all along the parade routes to join us for something brand new -- a third-day celebration!

So, early on Easter Sunday morning, for the first time in the history of the Petén, -- did you get that!? -- FIRST-TIME-EVER -- believers from several churches gathered in an open air civic stadium and publicly celebrated the RISEN savior, Jesus Christ. There are no words to describe it. A gathering of multiple ethnicities and nationalities rejoicing in the power of the resurrection like never before. We left with a deep assurance that what happened in the spirit was orchestrated by God, and that His presence was released in a bold new way over this region.

Thank you for participating with us in the history-making. We so deeply appreciate your continued prayer covering and faithful financial support that allows us to continue...
