And We’re Off . . .

[The post announced at church on Sunday, August 19, 2012 so you can test your subscription activation.]

Our 18 hour travel day to Guatemala is done! We are here and settling in. (More on that later.)

Our training team members, David & Janice Ewing were set to meet us at the Flores airport, but returned stateside a few weeks ago for an emergency medical need. Please continue to pray for their grandbaby Levi’s miracle healing, for baby’s mom-dad-siblings, and for David & Janice as they help their children through this very challenging & unexpected season.

With the Ewings stateside we stepped into change before we even arrived on the field. We’re getting a good initiation of rolling with the inevitable and unending last-minute surprises that comprise a routinely uncommon day in the life of a global outreach worker. It’s comforting to recognize that God knows every situation and circumstance and perfectly orchestrates His plan – undaunted – unchallenged – always in control - steadfast.

We see His hand in the timing of our departure as we arrived just in time to help cover the bases and to lift up the arms of our team members. Just know that our hearts are both there and here, and excitement fills the air. We daily rest in the assurance that God is leading, and it’s all good.

Thank you, once again for coming along with us through your generous hearts, your love for God, and your commitment to pray and support His work to reach the people of the Peten, Guatemala.

Our awesome home church family gave us an amazing send-off on Sunday the 19th. Your timely words from the Lord encouraged us so much and touched our hearts deeply. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Simply Serving,

Rod & De
